Make a Podcast in Windows

Ever heard of Podcast? Podcast stands for “iPod BroadCasting” which means a way for user to subscribe to files, usually sound files, thru the Internet.

It usually streams and feed to user automatically without cost. OK, so you want to start make a Podcast in Windows?

Basically it is free because all we need are included with Windows XP .. the old trusty Sound Recorder and a free MP3 encoder, which can be downloaded free online.

Make a Podcast in Windows Pic 1

  1. Record a sound file using Sound Recorder. Save the file and encode it to mp3 format using any free mp3 encoder you can find. Personally I use LameMP3 Encoder from http://mitiok.free.fr/.

They have tons of supports online.

  2. Upload the encoded MP3 files to your website and provide links to them in your blog.
  3. There you go. You have just done your first Podcast. People can start download the sound files from the links that you put up in your blog.
